On November 17, 2020, at the Alberta School Boards Association Fall General Meeting Awards Event, the Living Waters Catholic Separate School Division was the honored recipient of the School Board Innovation and Excellence Award for their Beyond the Classroom Program.
This award is presented to school boards for their role in launching programs and initiatives that enhance student achievement. This prestigious award is sponsored by The Document Company, Xerox. Beyond the Classroom is a Lifeskills program that has been created to meet the local needs of our students with a curricular approach that blends functional academics, daily living, personal/social, and occupational skills into integrated lessons designed to help students learn to function independently in society. The program is intended to be individualized and personalized, focused on meaningful real world life skills, and it is hands on learning with practical and functional academics.
